Men and Bath Salts

You don't usually associate beauty, cleanliness, and skin care to the regular, active, and hardworking man. But times have indeed changed with the rise of different skin care products which are formulated just for men. It is not as simple as it sounds. When it comes to skin care men, products should be a at whole different level. Whether it is the bath soap, skin lotion, moisturisers, facial wash, shaving creams, cleansers, deodorants, and even bath salts - certain things about the male body characteristics should be accounted for.

What are Bath Salts?

Bath salts are of course, those, solid, inorganic water soluble salts that you put on your skin when taking a bath or add in the bath tub water when you are in for a soak. It is a special formula that enhances the bathing experience. It makes taking a bath feel more like a trip to your favorite hot spring. Not only does it clean, it helps relax the skin. It has been used way back the times of Ancient Greeks and in early Chinese civilizations.

While these are primarily used as a cosmetic product, the health benefits that it provides is undeniable. This includes; improved oxygen breathing, reduced muscle inflammation to relieve pain from cramps, relieved stress, improved nerve function by electrolyte regulation. Improved heart and circulatory health. Yes, all that from taking a simple bath with these things. These have even been used and suggested in various therapies.

With all this coming in to play, it is no surprise that these substances are commonly used in bath soaps, body washes and various surfactants. What separates today's bath salts from the ones in earlier times is the various scents and different colors it assumes. Obviously, you want to smell nice after a long bath and these products can do that for you. Some of the common additives you will find in a pack of bath salt are fragrant oils, effervescent agents, and foaming agents.

Bath Salts for Men

We have to admit it - with everything that has been said above, this stuff seems kind of "feminine". And men don't really dig on feminine products. There is a certain degree of how men can appreciate these types of things. At average, men burns 1500 calories everyday and this number goes off the charts with those who live a healthy, high activity level lifestyle. Most of my male friends hit the gym and work out even after a day of hard work. I even join them in some pickup games in weekends. This also means a lot of perspiration, a lot of tired and achy muscles, and in turn, body odor. Would the regular old bath salt cope up with this? I don't think so. Men need skin care products that will be able to pump up the volume and rise up to the challenge.
