Herbal Cures: Bed Sores

The basic concept of classical homeopathy is based on the knowledge that drugs cure similar diseases, as they can cause symptoms when used on healthy people. In therapy and diagnostics, homeopathy is usually a systematic and involves not only the disease-related symptoms and changes, but all the striking features of the disease patients as a whole, of spirit, soul and body.

Also known as pressure sores, decubitus ulcers, and trophic ulcers, bedsores develop where the skin endures unrelieved external pressure. Those who are paralyzed, unconscious, or immobile and anyone confined to a bed or wheelchair for long periods of time are most susceptible. Herbal remedies with antiinflammatory properties are effective against them.

The sores occur most commonly on the buttocks, as well as on the shoulders, elbows, lower back, hips, knees, ankles, and heels. They begin as red, tender patches of skin that slowly thicken and swell. Blisters and openings in the skin are common. Ongoing pressure prevents the sores from healing and invites infection. Severe bedsores, which always require medical attention, can expose the bone and may require surgery and skin grafting.

Because bedsores are difficult to treat, prevention is the best medicine. To minimize pressure in any one place, the patient's position should be changed every two hours. Pressure areas should be washed and dried carefully-sponge gently and use a small amount of soap. (Wet skin, especially if caused by incontinence, is prone to infection.) Padding beds with wool blankets can help relieve pressure.Cornstarch and talcum powder- often sprinkled on damp skin and open sores-can help keep skin dry. Other measures include foot and leg exercises, gentle massage, and a vitamin-fortified diet.

Myrrh To make an astringent and antiseptic tincture, mix 1 part resin of the myrrh shrub with 5 parts 90 percent isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Commercial tinctures are also sold. Test on healthy skin first to make sure further irritation does not occur. Never apply to an open sore.

Aloe vera gel Carefully slice along the center of the aloe leaf, peel back the edges, and scrape out the gel. The gel is available in most stores, but the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect of the fresh gel is much greater.

Arnica The anti-inflammatory and antiseptic qualities of the flower heads are captured in commercial tinctures and ointments. Apply with a cloth or add to a poultice. Long-term use may cause dermatitis. Do not take internally.

Calendula Use 1 to 2 teaspoons flowers to make a standard tea (for external use), tincture, or ointment. Apply the steeped tea with a clean cloth. Or use a commercial ointment.

How To Get Healthy Skin Naturally, For Beautiful Skin, Try These 3 Simple Tips

I don't know about you, but I think a healthy skin looks beautiful on everyone. By healthy I mean a skin with an even, natural color, a beautiful glow and only the signs of aging suitable for the person's age.

The truth is, many people today do not have this kind of skin and are desperately looking for ways to get healthy skin. If you are one of these people, read on, I have a few of my best tips for beautiful skin listed below.

1. Eat fruit and veg - lots of them

There's no way around it, your diet is the key factor when it comes to your skin health. To get healthy skin, you need to take a serious look on what you eat. In short: fruits and vegetables are good, meat and sugars are bad.

That's because vegetables and fruit contain the vitamins and minerals your skin and your whole body needs to stay healthy and function properly. Meat and (refined) sugars are not needed by the body and usually end up clogging your digestive tract, and your poor body ends up trying to get rid of the rest through the skin. That's not healthy, nor does it make your skin look nice. For beautiful skin, eat at least 3 portions of vegetables and two portions of fruit a day.

2. Watch what you drink

The people who ask themselves how to get healthy skin naturally usually already know they should be drinking more water. The question is, are they really following that advice, and what else are they drinking besides water. Are you really getting 8 glasses of water daily? And this does mean water, not soda, coffee or black tea.

One or two glasses of your daily water dose can be natural juices, but don't go overboard on them. Herbal tea also counts towards the daily glass count, but all other drinks don't, as they don't really hydrate you (some even do the opposite). Only a well hydrated body can be healthy. To get healthy skin, make water your priority.

3. Natural skin care is the key

Take care of your health from within, but also remember to nourish your skin from the outside. If you want to get healthy skin, take a look at the skin care you are using. It should be completely natural, effective and thoroughly tested. Avoid skin creams with synthetic ingredients, as the long term effects of many of them haven't been properly documented.

Also our plain logic tells us that because the skin is 100% natural, it will most likely to benefit from 100% skin care the most, don't you think? Find skin care products that are suitable for your age, with effective moisturizing and (if required) anti-aging properties.

So there you have them, simple but not always so easy-to-follow consistently tips that can really help you get healthy skin. If you want to see what skin care products I recommend for beautiful skin, please visit my website, the link is just below!

Black Skin and the Risks of Hydroquinone Bleaching

There are hundreds of products on the market for whitening dark skin, some contain dangerously high levels of hydroquinone, others have proven effective, but leave the skin with an appearance of severe skin damage. The social and mental pressures that may cause someone with dark skin to desire a lighter hue is not the issue here, people must look deep within themselves to identify issues of colonialism or self-hatred, which is rampant among East Indians, and people of African descent. The discussion here is to attempt to ensure skin whitening is done safely and the long term effects of creams that burn and scar the skin are taken laid squarely on the table.

The desire for lighter skin is nothing new among the darker races. Since colonisation of many countries, women have been raised to believe that a fairer complexion equates to beauty. As a result, women with dark skin have resorted to various measures to lighten their skin. Though there are natural forms of skin lightening, the main component of any skin lightening cream or soap is hydroquinone.

The most common use of hydroquinone is to address hyper pigmentation, more predominantly on the face, and also to treat unattractive dark spots. Hydroquinone is a compound that is produced industrially. This compound is also used in medicines in safe quantities to treat diseases such as Rosacea that causes redness of the skin. The main side effects of the use of creams and soaps with dangerously high levels of hydroquinone are that it increases sensitivity to the sun, and this can persist for as long as hydroquinone is in use.

There are many creams or soaps on the market that are used to lighten the skin, customers should be more cautious about those creams or soaps being sold under the counter as these are more likely to contain high levels of hydroquinone. There are safer ways to lighten the skin, such as the use of creams that have legal levels of hydroquinone, well those that work, or you can opt for the effective but safer method of skin whitening creams that are made up of natural products and they are difficult to find.

On the whole people want to whiten the skin for a variety of reasons; however it is important to consider the long term consequences, possible side effects, weighed against desired results when using creams or soaps containing high levels of hydroquinone, which can burn or scar the skin. In my opinion it is better to go for the safer option of creams made from natural products for people of darker skin for people with darker skin.

If you would like more information about products to safely and effectively whiten your skin, please visit amandatrayce.com for more information. Providing useful skin care products reviews and skincare treatment articles, writings and reviews online.

Does Duct Tape Cure Warts?

There are many ways to cure warts but the most unexpected is probably the duct tape treatment. Who would have thought that a tape you usually buy in DIY markets can be a powerful cure for warts!? For years medical science has ignored duct tape as a warts remedy despite the experiences of many warts sufferers who managed to get rid of their warts using this unusual cure.

Warts therapy with duct tape consists of placing a small piece of tape over your wart and leaving it there for six days. If the tape peels off it should be immediately replaced with another piece of tape and left there until the six-day period expires. On the seventh day uncover the wart, wash it and rub off the dead skin. Leave the wart to dry during the night. The following day place another piece of tape on the wart and leave it there for another six days. Repeat this procedure as many times necessary, until your wart shrinks and disappears.

There are several explanations as to how this treatment works. Some think that the wart cells, and the warts virus, die out because of the lack of air but the more probable explanation is that this treatment triggers off the immune system reaction which kills the virus and causes the wart to shrink and disappear. This makes this kind of therapy completely safe procedure because it is not the tape or some other chemical what kills the warts virus, but it is our own body that heals itself from the infection.

Researchers in the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center conducted an experiment in which they compared the effectiveness of cryotherapy treatments provided by doctors and the duct tape therapy. The tape cured 85% of all people who received the treatment while cryotherapy proved effective in 60% of treated cases.

Duct therapy is 100% natural and completely painless treatment. It is particularly convenient in curing small children who might find other treatments painful or stressful. To make the whole therapy interesting for the children, you can cut the tape into different shapes (heart, cloud, flower... ) and paste them on the wart. Instead of silver tape you can use any other type of tape, just make sure it is water and airproof.

Warts are very tough to battle and they respond differently to different remedies. If this treatment does not show any results after two weeks, quit it and try out some other warts cure.

More information about home remedies for warts and how to get rid of warts using duct tape can be found in HowtoGetRidofWarts.com website. Providing useful skin care products reviews and skincare treatment articles, writings and reviews online.

A Brief History of Dermatology

The following article takes a look at the history of the area of medicine known today as dermatology, including its earliest incarnations in classical cultures.

What is Dermatology?

Before looking at the history of dermatology as a profession and as a term it is a worth briefly summarising what it actually involves. In a very basic sense dermatology is the area of medicine that relates to the skin. As a result it can cover practices which deal with diseases, cancers, infections, allergies and hormonal reactions that affect the skin, as well as purely cosmetic alterations and/or the treatment of 'blemishes'. These practices can therefore involve areas such as surgery and pathology (diagnosis and treatment of diseases). Practitioners in the field are called dermatologists with more specific titles depending on their areas of expertise (e.g., a dermatolopathologist will specialise in dermatolopathology - the pathology of skin).

Ancient Dermatology

Dermatology as a defined concept really came into being around the end of the 18th and start of the 19th century despite the fact that skin conditions would have been treated and acknowledged throughout the course of human history. The coining of the term gave a formal label to a branch of medicine which included treatments and practices that would have been performed for thousands of years. In fact some of the earliest accounts of advanced skin treatment date back to the ancient Egyptians. Everyone knows the stories of Cleopatra bathing in ass's milk, and the effects on the skin of the lactic acid in the milk are still recognised today. However, the Egyptians were known to use other substances to alter the appearance of their skin such as alabaster, oils and salt. They even applied some chemicals to the skin for medical rather than cosmetic purposes with arsenic, for example, being used in an attempt to treat skin cancers.

The forerunners of many other non-invasive dermatological practices which are still being explored today can also be traced back to the Egyptians. Techniques such as dermabrasion could be identified in the use of sandpaper to smooth down rough skin and scars, whilst they even realised the benefits of exposing skin to light (a practice which carried on through the ages), in their case natural sunlight.

The cosmetic benefits of skin treatments continued to be appreciated throughout the ancient world. The Greek and Roman cultures used a mixture of substances such as natural oils and resins (e.g., myrrh and frankincense) with pumices to smooth and exfoliate the skin. Across Asia, in India, they replaced the natural resins with urine to achieve the same results and rather drastically the ancient Turks achieved their exfoliation by actually singeing the skin.

The Birth of Modern Dermatology

The term dermatology itself Comes from the Greek for "skin" derma and "to learn" logy via first the French dermologie and subsequently the latinised term dermatologia. In fact the French were early practitioners in the modern field or dermatology, opening the first school in Paris at the Hôpital Saint-Louis in 1801. What we now consider as dermatology though can be traced back to the early 16th century in Europe and much of this early work focused on the use of chemicals from classical practices as well as sunlight on conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

20th Century Dermatology

The start of the 20th century saw greater innovations in skin treatment using electrosurgery (treatment with electrical currents) and cryosurgery (the use of extreme cold) with subsequent developments in liposculpture (removal of fats from under the skin surface) and hair transplants taking place in the first half of the century. The early 1900s also witnessed the introduction of peels to strip away dead skin and expose new healthier skin, through the use of Phenol peels in particular.

In the 1950s, the use of light treatments evolved into the development of lasers and in turn these techniques progressed in the latter half the 20th century to deal with the removal of hair and certain cosmetic blemishes. Indeed, laser treatments are still being developed with current advances centering around the treatment of issues such as stretch marks and the tightening of the skin. The late 20th century also saw the further developments in peeling techniques to replenish the skin using trichloracetic and alpha-hydroxy acids, which hark right back to the earliest Egyptian practices.

Natural Wart Removers: The Perfect Healing

We know that warts are very disturbing and irritating. Many types of warts appear in clusters or as individual projections all over the body. Warts that appear on the face and other exposed body parts like hands and feet are very embarrassing. Warts are the abnormal growth of skin caused by viruses called Human Papiloma Virus. They are highly contagious disease as the viruses spreads through direct physical contact. Warts are of different types based on the site at which they appear. There are many treatment methods available to cure and control warts. However, people are always interested in self-treatment. Many home remedies are available but many of them are less effective and may cause severe skin damages. That is the reason why people are in search of best wart removers without side effects. Today most of us try many natural products for the treatment of warts, but many of them are not effective and their actions do not undergo clinical trials.

Many individuals try these methods as an experiment. Nevertheless, there are many natural products, which deliver good results. Here we can see some natural wart removers found effective against certain types of warts.

· Pineapple

· grape fruit

· banana peel

· potato rub

Pineapple

Many people are not aware about the importance of pineapple in the treatment of warts. Pineapple is a best wart remover that can cure warts without side effects. Acids are the strong chemicals able to kill viruses on contact. The pineapple is rich with a number of strong acids, which effectively fight against the viruses responsible for the warts. The acids present in pineapple are:

· Citric acid

· Malic acid

· Ascorbic acid

· Acrylic acid

· Quinic acid

· Valerianic acid

· Isocapronic acid

The presence of these acids makes pineapple a lethal weapon against warts. The procedure is as follows:

1. Place a piece of pineapple over the Wart.

2. Keep the slice in position using a bandage.

3. Remove the bandage after two to three hours.

4. Repeat the procedure for at least two times a day.

This procedure is able to produce quick results. We can notice the changes within a few days.

Grape fruit

The action of grape fruit is same as that of pineapple. Grape fruit is rich in Citric acid. The high concentration of Citric acid present in the grape fruit is good enough to kill the viruses within a limited period. Squeeze out the juice from grape fruit apply the juice on the warts. Tie the wart using a plaster to prevent the evaporation of the acid.

Remove the plaster after a few hours. For a good result, repeat the same at least 3 times a day

Banana peel

Banana peel is a best wart remover that can cure the wart and repair the damaged skin. Many people use banana peels to treat their warts, especially common warts and Plantar warts. Almost all of them get rid from their wart by a two weeks use. The changes occur from the second or third, day of use and Sometimes the change is visible from the first day itself. The procedure is the same like pineapple and grape.

1. Place a slice of banana peel over the Wart.

2. Tie it with a bandage

3. Leave it for few hours

4. Remove the bandage and clean the area with water

5. Repeat the procedure for two weeks.

Using row banana peel is more effective than using a ripe one. Some people rub the banana peel on the warts instead of placing it over the Wart. The banana peel is rich with plenty of minerals and chemical compounds like:

· K (potassium)

· Na (Sodium)

· Ca (calcium)

· Fe (iron)

· Manganese (Mn)

· Br (Bromine)

· Proteins

· Lipids

· Carbohydrates

· Oxalates

Many of these minerals and compounds prevent the growth of Viruses. That may be the reason of the popularity of banana peel in the treatment of warts.

Potato rub

Rubbing a slice of potato over the wart is very effective. Theory behind this cure is the production of immune response by the affected tissues. In many cases, our body fails to recognize the warts formed in the skin, and that may be the reason why our immune system remains silent against the invaded Viruses. Now with the frequent rubbing with potato slices over the warts makes some kind of irritations on the area, which helps our body to spot the unusual growth. This will generate a positive immune response in the surrounding tissues to fight against the Wart, and our body itself cures the wart within a few weeks.

There are a number of wart removers available in the nature in the form of vegetables, fruits, seeds, and oils. Scientific studies are required to prove the effectiveness of the active chemicaments contained in these natural wart remover resources. However, a number of best wart removers available in the med-market contain the extracts of above listed natural products fortified with advanced medicaments.

The Natural Way of Skin Care

Skin is the most sensitive part of the body and requires proper care to keep it healthy. There is a lot of pollution around us, which destroys our skin, makes it dry and causes other damages. There are many products available in the market that can help maintain your skin and repair it. The main function of the skin is to protect the inner organs and muscles from any contamination. Even though the skin performs this great duty perfectly well, but as we age, the skin starts to wrinkle and becomes prone to diseases itself. The most common problem is dry skin, which can occur due to many reasons. Although, the most prominent reasons include taking heavy medicines for blood pressure, tension and headaches, but it can be avoided by monitoring skin irritation after starting a new medication.

Poor nutrition is another cause for dry skin. Since the skin is also a part of the body it requires proper nutrition to keep it healthy. Being a complete vegetarian is not very good for the skin, if you do not take enough animal fat you are soon going to run in dry skin. Additionally a lack of vitamin B12 is considered responsible for formation of acne. Correcting the diet can often be the best solution to the problem of dry skin. It is often advised to drink lots of water, in order to restore the skin. This is because water naturally removes toxins from the body.

Often pimples are formed on the skin because the sebaceous glands in the skin are clogged with dirt. Properly lubricating the skin with lotion or oils will restore the sebaceous glands, to the pre-damage conditions. The sebaceous glands can also be responsible for producing too much sweat and making the skin oily, either ways correcting the diet should fix the problem. At some point in time, the body does need additional help to keep the skin healthy.

Natural skin care products should always provide this help. Using artificial products would mean that you are exposing your skin to medications, and these products should not be tried if you have sensitive skin. Of course, you would want to see what ingredients were involved in the making of the lotion. A good way to judge moisturizer, natural and artificial both is to read consumer reviews.

Consumer reviews will tell you how different people reacted to different skin care products. If you have a skin ailment and are in luck, then you might find the review of a person with the same condition. You would even know which brand is the best for your condition. Anti-aging wrinkle creams are also beneficial, as we grow old. They are slow, but they are only applied externally and are all-natural. The smooth the texture and helps correct the elasticity of the skin. The alternative to this would Botox injections, but they need to be injected in different areas of the skin. This method is faster, but a risky one.

Discover Nature's Best Skin Firming Face Care Products

The best skin firming face care products are the subject of much debate within the health and beauty industry. There are many products that claim to replenish and restore what you lose over time, allowing you to fight back against wrinkles and sagging. But all products are not created equally and they simply can't all provide the kind of results you want.

In fact, most firming products are made primarily with synthetic ingredients that contain harsh chemicals. These chemicals can actually have a very damaging effect, causing drying and cracking and negatively impacting your health. So even as you apply these kinds of products, intending to help yourself, you can be doing just the opposite.

The only way to be sure that you are getting the best skin firming face treatment is by using products that contain only natural ingredients. These products are designed specifically to target the underlying causes of wrinkles, sagging and other effects of aging, for deep-seated and long lasting results. And their ingredients are carefully selected to work in synergy, rather than working against each other or you.

Only all-natural skin firming products contain ingredients like Grapeseed Oil, Babassu and Maracuja to provide safe, gentle sources of moisture and healing. While Grapeseed Oil restores and locks in moisture, emollients like Babassu and Maracuja, extracted from tropical plants, give you a soft, silky feel and supple tone.

An equally important part of high quality skin firming face care products are natural antioxidants like Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10. These powerful fighters help to eliminate free radicals, which can build up over time through exposure to environmental irritants and affect the health of your entire body. By flushing these free radicals out of your body, antioxidants help to restore both good health and a healthy appearance.

Firming the skin is only half the battle, improving your overall health by providing all of the essential nutrients your body needs is also vital. A truly effective beauty regimen takes this into consideration and that's why it needs to include a full range of products made from 100% natural ingredients so that you are getting nothing but the best.

By taking advantage of what nature has to offer, you can be sure that you are engaging in the best skin firming face care routine possible. This includes regular cleansing twice a day and using only proven, effective natural products. It's the key to not only fighting off the effects of aging but keeping your whole body feeling healthy and fit.

You take good care of your insides, so why wouldn't you want to do the same for your outsides? Keep yourself looking and feeling younger and more beautiful with nature's secret to lasting good looks. A few minutes a day is all it takes to look your best for a lifetime!

Taking Care of Our Body's Largest Organ

It is said that our skin is a reflection of our overall health. Aside from being our body's largest organ and serving as our first line of defense against various diseases, it also regulates heat and performs various other critical functions to help us survive. It is the barrier between us and the harmful effects of the environment around us. It is really important then that we take care of our skin and give it utmost care so it can continue performing its many important functions.

Some of the ways our skin can be harmed are through burns, cuts, scratches, abrasions, or punctures. It can also become unhealthy if it doesn't receive enough nutrients. When our skin does not get enough nutrients, it heals slowly when damaged, has poor circulation and looks dull. No need to lose sleep worrying about that, though, since there are various ways we can provide nutrients to our skin, and one of them is by applying topical creams.

Topical creams like Propolis Cream contain a good balance of important nutrients to help keep the skin healthy. They serve to provide the nutrients lacking in our system. They can also be used to treat minor skin irritations, burns and cuts. Aside from providing lacking nutrients, they can also be a skin moisturizer.

Of course, taking care of your skin to keep it healthy does not entirely depend on creams or even certain pills. Here are some ways you can protect it and maintain or improve its healthy state:

Keep away from the sun - We need sunshine to get benefits like vitamin D3, but too much of it can cause certain health risks like skin cancer. It can also speed up the aging process by causing wrinkles and age spots. Seek shade from the sun, especially between 10am to 4pm, as this is when the rays of the sun can be at their strongest and most harmful.

Have a healthy diet - Nature provides us with many types of food so we can stay healthy. Include plenty of fruits, whole grains, and vegetables in your diet. Get a load of vitamin C as this helps in not only protecting our skin, but also in making it look younger.

Treat your skin with care - Use soap with mild ingredients and scrub your skin gently when cleaning it. Don't stay in the bathtub for a long time as long baths can remove essential oils from your skin. Also, use warm instead of hot water when bathing.

Aside from the skin care tips mentioned above, you should also manage stress as it can make your skin more sensitive and can cause various skin problems. Applying creams like Propolis Cream can give you a skin that's not just healthy, but also great-looking.

Give the skin the nutrients it needs by eating a healthy diet and applying creams like Propolis Cream. Beauty Serum Products and How To Use Them

There are so many skin care products on the market these days that shopping for them can be confusing. People who are not well-versed in the beauty industry often find themselves wondering about the differences between creams and lotions and confounded by what other products are. Serum products tend to be mysteries to many consumers because they are relatively new to the industry. The mystery is unraveled here, enabling people to discover whether these products meet their needs.

What Is a Beauty Serum?

Skin care products labeled as serums tend to come in small jars or tubes and carry high price tags. This may prevent consumers from taking a second look, but that can be a mistake because serums provide many benefits. For years, spas were the exclusive users of these treatments, making the products well-kept secrets. Serums contain high concentrations of ingredients that are chemically formulated into small molecules.

Serum products have similar qualities to moisturizers and are used to treat redness, dryness, and fine lines on skin. However, their molecules are smaller, so serums are absorbed into skin more quickly and deeply, making them more intensive than moisturizers. Results are dramatic and last substantially longer than those provided by a typical moisturizer. Skin is nourished and enhanced, and its performance gets a boost from the high concentration of beneficial ingredients.

Benefits of Serums

Though formulas used to create a serum may vary, the best brands have common benefits. These skin care products soften, hydrate, and smooth skin, minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Consumers who are too young to worry about anti aging skin care routines benefit from the evening, toning, and brightening features of a serum. Many formulas have exfoliating ingredients designed to minimize wrinkles and fine lines while reducing skin discolorations like dark spots.

Retinol serum products provide non-prescription ways to get pure vitamin A. Retinol is proven to counteract the effects of aging on the skin. It supports the production of collagen, causing skin to appear firmer and fuller. Retinol also reduces the visible effects of sun damage on skin by repairing skin cells in the epidermis. Regular use of a serum containing retinol results in even-toned, rejuvenated skin that can make a person look many years younger.

How To Apply Beauty Serums

Applying a serum to the skin is not difficult. Simply put a drop of the product on the fingertips and massage the liquid into clean skin. Serum should be applied each morning and night and followed by a moisturizer. One or two drops should be enough to cover the entire face and neck area, which should not be neglected during the skin care routine.

After using serum products for the first time, many people feel an instant change in their skin. They notice that skin feels smoother, softer, and tighter. Visible results are typically achieved within four weeks and will be most noticeable on people who had fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, or red skin prior to beginning treatment.

Five Surefire Ways on How to Treat Age Spots

If you think that you'll only get age spots when you reach your forties, well, think again. Age spots, or liver spots as some would call it, but I prefer calling it age spots because the term liver spots sound like a dreaded disease, is a skin pigmentation condition characterized by the appearance of small flat brown spots on the skin. It is primarily caused by too much exposure to the sun and poor lifestyle habits, which means, it is not impossible to develop such spots even if you're only on your twenties. Luckily, there are ways to treat age spots. Let me share to you five surefire ways on how to do so.

1. Keep sun exposure within safe limits. It is best to stay out of the sun when the sun's rays are the strongest, which is between 10 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. Of course it's not totally bad to soak up some sunshine, but it is best to do it during the safe hours of the day which is before 10 in the morning and after 3 in the afternoon.

2. Wear sunscreen every day regardless of the weather. As cliche-ish as it may sound, wearing sunscreen every day is the most essential thing that you can do to protect and delay the appearance of the signs of skin aging from your face. Don't worry sunscreens these days doesn't smell like pools anymore. Plus, they have improved formulations catering to different skin types so you don't have to worry about breakouts.

3. Have an antioxidant rich diet. Apart from repairing cell damage caused by free radicals, antioxidants are also responsible in preventing lipofuscin deposits, or the brown pigment deposits that create the skin pigmentation. Eat lots of antioxidant rich foods to keep age spots at bay. Some examples of antioxidant rich foods are berries, garlic, green tea and tomatoes.

4. Treat age spots using aloe vera. Aloe vera have cell rejuvenating and skin whitening properties that can help improve the appearance of your age spots. This is a good way to treat age spots especially if you don't have enough budget to seek professional help. As a tip, the fresher the aloe vera the better the results.

5. Have an anti aging facial treatment. The only way to effectively get rid of these unsightly brown spots is by seeking the help of a skin professional. Lasers and skin care devices can treat the skin at the cellular level and effectively remove skin pigmentation and other skin aging issues.

Keep your skin looking youthful and healthy by indulging in regular anti aging skin care treatments. A friendly reminder from the FSD team. Providing useful skin care products reviews and skincare treatment articles, writings and reviews online.

Make Your Dermatologist Visit Easier: Knowledge You Need

You can take a lot of the surprise and stress out of your visit to the dermatologist by knowing some things ahead of time. While you are free to use your appointment in any way you wish-and there's certainly nothing wrong with asking questions-you're not just wasting your doctor's time but your own if you go in ignorant. Certainly, your doctor can spend time answering the same questions for you as he did for the last ten patients, but you might find it a better use of your time to familiarize yourself with some basic concepts before making your appointment. Here is the knowledge you need.

Acne is Incurable

Acne isn't the type of disease for which there can ever be a failsafe cure. In fact, it's not a disease at all, but rather a set of symptoms. Certainly, there are some products out there that can make a big difference in your appearance. It is worth your while to try some of them in an attempt to control your problem. But you are wasting your time and looking for disappointment if you expect your dermatologist to cure your acne. It isn't going to happen.

Dealing With Acne

Unfortunately, many people weigh their acne down with a lot of baggage entirely unrelated to the issue of clogged pores. This is especially true when it comes to adolescents who often feel socially ostracized and teased for something out of their control. Social myths pervade that tell people that pimples are somehow related to eating greasy foods or failing to wash properly. This is nonsense. Your dermatologist should not only be willing to help you control your acne, but provide you with some of the facts that can ease the emotional baggage.

Referrals

Many dermatologists will not take patients straight off the street. For that matter, many insurance companies wouldn't cover the cost of the visit even if they did. More often than not, you'll need to stop by your general practitioner before moving on to a specialist. But there's nothing wrong with that. While they may not have the specific training and residency in skin care you'll find in a specialist, your GP can often recommend treatments and methods that will work for whatever problem you're facing. If not, he will be able to refer you to someone he respects in the field.

Research is a Double Edged Sword

The internet provides us with nearly unlimited information on any topic we can dream up. But this is a double edged sword and it often leads people to self-diagnose in a way that isn't very healthy. Only a doctor can diagnose you by seeing your symptoms in person, running tests, and doing the other things that cannot be done online. Don't work yourself up into a frenzy because you think you've diagnosed yourself with cancer from a message board posting.

Valuable Secrets In Purchasing The Best Skin Care Products That Suit Your Skin Care Needs!

Skin care products- always read the ingredients listed on the back! Locating the best skin care products is a challenging and frustrating concern for both men and women alike, who want to look beautiful and youthful regardless of age. The inevitable process of growing older intervenes little by little and tends to make your skin less toned and radiant and unfortunately less moisturized. Your skin loses its elasticity and those unwanted fine lines and wrinkles start to appear on your face and body. And you wake up one day and see that your face is not that beautiful and vibrant anymore. Sucks, doesn't it?

Regardless of your choice, you should remember that the best products are the ones that are not made of harsh toxins which could easily damage the skin and even create problems later in life. But understand, there is a distinction between harsh chemicals and effective "active ingredients" that are proven to show improvements to the skin. You can find a list of these harsh chemicals on the internet or you can simply meet with a dermatologist.

Do I know my skin type?

It's a well known fact that anyone can have healthy and balanced skin! You just have to be more conscious of your skin type and to its progression in time. You shouldn't use the same products as your friend because you may have unmatched skin types with different needs. Irrespective of the skin types, the best skin care products that promote healthy skin are the ones that nourish, moisturize, exfoliate and tone. In order to find out which skin care product suits you best you need to see if its ingredients correspond with your skin type. This is one of the main golden rules! Don't waste a lot of time examining the price and popularity of the product, even though this is most often the common scenario. It won't matter if the product is well-advertised and expensive. It may not work miracles for you if its ingredients don't match your skin type.

Ingredients that you can trust

Seeking the best skin care products is very important as our bodies age. The outer skin or epidermis develops facial lines and dark spots and the entire body produces a lower level of collagen, crucial in maintaining skin elasticity. Scientists have confirmed that there are specific skin actives with almost magical like properties that help maintain a healthy and youthful complexion.

Among them mentioned:

• Jojoba oil- suitable for dry and oily skin types. It moisturizes and lessens oil in oily skin. It is also used in treating acne.
• D-Panthenol or vitamin B5- it's a moisturizer that repairs tissues. The most beneficial skin care products always contain vitamin B5.
• Salicylic Acid or Beta Hydroxy- exfoliate and boost skin texture and color.
• Kojic Acid- treats age spots and pigments.
• Retinol- rehydrates and illuminates the skin, creating that youthful glow.
• Vitamin C- energizes the production of collagen. It is mainly used to treat wrinkles.
• Peptides- targets cell regeneration and produces collagen.

As always you should check with a skin care professional and get some suggestions about the products that are best for your skin type. To sum up, the best skin care products are the ones that safely and successfully slow the aging process while rejuvenating your skin back to its youthful and healthy appearance.

Anti-Aging Skin Care Choices

Have you ever wondered why your mother only looked 50 years old when she was actually 60, but your father looked 70 when he was 60? Our anti-aging genes determine much of whether we will grow old gracefully, or not so gracefully. But if you are stuck with Dad's less than youthful genes, don't give up hope. Even if you are blessed with Mom's girl-like appearance, at some point that first wrinkle will be staring you in the face, or rather, landing on your face.

Whether that wrinkle finds its way to the laugh lines around your eyes, that perfect place to drag down the sides of your mouth, or lands right in the middle of your forehead, take heart as you have anti-aging skin care choices. You can't completely beat those nasty wrinkles but you can certainly combat them. Maybe you can't win them all, but winning some of those battles will keep you younger and healthier looking.

Oh, but there's that overwhelming feeling as we try to choose just the right weapons to fight the Anti aging skin care war. There are hundreds of anti-aging skin care products and procedures on the market and the onslaught of advertising can confuse and intimidate us when making choices. Should we choose invasive or non-invasive procedures? Expensive or inexpensive? If we choose non-invasive or inexpensive, will they be effective? Learning more about the pros and cons of anti-aging skin care products and options will help you choose the right one for you.

Popular injection serums, such as Botox and other temporary fillers, can smooth out fine lines. Injecting these serums, or even inserting fat from your own body, can replenish the collagen in the skin and wrinkles disappear or are diminished temporarily. However, if getting poked in the face with a needle isn't your favorite pastime activity, this may not be right for you. Many of us do not like needles; especially in the face where they often sting.

Chemical peels are another choice. Chemical solutions are applied to the skin causing it to blister, peel off, and leave a new layer of skin which usually is smoother. Alpha-Hydroxl acids (AHAs), generally derived from fruit, milk, and sugar cane, are used to remove the skin. Redness and inflammation of the face is a common side effect. Healing time varies and potential complications including permanent discoloration and whiteheads can occur. Chemical peels cannot be done close to the eyes so unwanted wrinkles may be left in this area.

If the above options increase your fear factor and diminish the size of your wallet, consider natural, affordable options. Today's anti-aging creams are so highly developed and refined that they eradicate and reduce wrinkles at a small percentage of the cost compared to other techniques. However, you will do not want to choose a chemically based cream. Choose natural ingredients to keep your skin and the rest of your body healthy and free from harm.

The firming creams of today are safe, miraculous menders due to nature's antioxidants, botanicals, nutrients, peptides, plant stem cells, and other natural plant derivatives. A ground-breaking natural ingredient known as Matrixyl 3000 combines amino acids and peptides to work as a powerful antioxidant. This anti-aging combination stimulates the environment that builds fibers and collagen which creates elastic, smooth skin. As part of your skin anti-aging cream, Matrixyl 3000 can lift sagging skin and enhance skin tone.

Successful anti aging skin care includes sodium hyaluronate (a natural element in our bodies), Syn-Coll (collagen), argireline (peptides and stem cells), and CoEnzyme Q10, and additional natural ingredients.

When you consider your choices, natural anti-aging skin care may be your best option. Letting nature provide for you when dad's genes won't may be the best remedy for wrinkles.

Best Wart Removal Techniques in Pregnancy

During pregnancy period, normal immunity of the body becomes weak and exposes the individual to a broad spectrum of diseases. Reason of this susceptibility is the gestational immune tolerance, which means the absence of immune response against the developing fetus and placenta. An individual infected with Human Papiloma Virus may develop warts at this time. If the individual already have warts on her body, they may spread to other parts of the body or increase in its number rapidly. This article highlights the best wart removal techniques in pregnancy.

Treatment

The treatment of warts during pregnancy is a difficult task. Many of the effective medicines used in the treatment of warts cannot use during pregnancy, as it may affect the development of fetus by retarding the growth or sometimes resulting in fetal death. Nevertheless, there are many alternative treatment methods to cure warts during pregnancy. The dermatologists prefer natural remedies as the best wart removal option in pregnancy because the natural medicines are completely free from side effects.

Treatment of common wart during pregnancy

Common warts are harmless and the treatment procedures do not cause complications. The strong medicines like Salicylic acid, Imiquimod, Veregen etc and treatment methods like Cryotherapy, Immunotherapy and electrocautery should be avoided as it cause serious health problems to the developing fetus. The best wart removal technique is to use duct tapes or following natural remedies like vinegar treatment, banana peel, potato rub etc. If the wart is not spreading, it is better to start treatment after the delivery and lactation period.

Treatment of Plantar warts during pregnancy

Plantar warts are the rough warts seen in the pressure points of feet. The individual may experience pain while walking. The safest way to treat plantar wart during pregnancy is the application of apple cider vinegar. The affected foot has to dip in a tumbler filled with apple cider vinegar for 5 minutes a day. Repeat the procedure for a week or more until the wart become black. When the wart turns black, we can easily remove the Wart. Soon after the procedure, apply duct tape for two to three days. This treatment procedure is one of the best wart removal methods to cure plantar wart during pregnancy period.

Treatment of Genital warts in pregnancy:

Genital warts spread mainly through sexual intercourse. These are the most dangerous and contagious form of warts. Usually Genital warts do not affect pregnancy, but may spread over more area causing some disturbances in urination and sometimes become more serious, as the warts may appear inside the anal and vaginal canal. If such conditions occur, treatment should start immediately to cure the warts before delivery. If the disorder left untreated, the disease may spread to the newborn from the vaginal tract at the time of delivery. The popular medicines used in the treatment of Genital warts like Imiquimod and Podophyllin are not safe to use during pregnancies. Therefore, most of the dermatologists prefer Trichloro asetic acid and Bichloro asetic acid as the best wart removal chemicals to treat Genital warts during pregnancy. The procedure is very simple:

· Apply asetic acid directly on the warts.
· Keep the area open for a few minutes to become air dry.
· Repeat the procedure every week until the wart disappears completely.

This procedure should carry out by an expert dermatologist as any simple accident can cause many serious damages to the reproductive tract and associated organs. If the medicine fails to remove the Wart, LASER treatment may help to relieve the condition. Surgical removal of warts is the ultimate option if all modes of treatment procedures fail to remove warts.

However, recent technological advancements in cosmetology delivers best wart removal procedures with 100% guarantee in pregnant women.

Tips on How to Treat and Prevent Age Spots

Contrary to popular belief, age spots or liver spots does not appear when you hit your thirties. Age spots are primarily caused by too much unprotected exposure to the sun. This means, no matter how old you are, you are at risk of developing these unsightly brown marks on your face. Fortunately, there are things that you can do to treat and prevent age spots from developing too early. Let me share to you some of them.

1. Limit your exposure to the sun. Since the sun's damaging UV rays are the primary culprits in the development of age spots, it is quite logical to at least limit your exposure to the sun to healthy amounts. Healthy amounts, meaning, a few minutes of sun exposure outside the 10 am to 3 pm window. It's not good to totally prevent sun exposure as it is essential for vitamin D production, so just keep sun exposure within safe limits.

2. Make sunscreen your best friend. I know you've heard it a thousand times already, but I'll say this again - it is very important to wear sunscreen every single day. Sunscreens protect the skin from sun damage and it also prevents the formation of age spots. Besides, sunscreen formulations today have improved a lot. They don't smell like pool anymore so there's really no excuse not to use one every day.

3. Load up on antioxidants. Antioxidants help prevent and repair the cell damage that free radicals cause. Apart from that, antioxidants can also help prevent lipofuscin deposits and prevent the development of age spots. This is why it is very important that you incorporate lots of antioxidant rich foods such as berries, broccoli, tomatoes and green tea to your daily diet.

4. Rub fresh aloe vera juice to your spots. Aloe vera has long been known as a healing agent for various skin problems. Aloe is believed to have skin clearing and skin rejuvenating properties which can help get rid of age spots. So if you don't have enough budget yet to go to your dermatologist then you might want to try this popular home remedy.

5. Anti aging facial treatments. If you already have age spots and you want to get rid of them, one of the most effective ways to do so is by undergoing anti aging facial treatments. These treatments usually involve the use of lasers and other high tech skin care devices that penetrate deeply into the skin and stimulate the cells at the cellular level. Your dermatologists can also prescribe you creams such as tretinoin to lighten these spots.

Keep your skin looking youthful and healthy by wearing sunscreen every day and having regular anti aging skin care treatments. A friendly reminder from the FSD team. Providing useful skin care products reviews and skincare treatment articles, writings and reviews online.

Botox and How It Helps With Wrinkles

Botox has been around for several decades already, and it has had many satisfied users. The substance is used by dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons to prevent the formation of and smooth out wrinkles and creases on a person's face. Although it was initially prepared and developed to treat specific conditions of the eyes, it has now found a niche in the plastic surgery field.

Basic Premise

The basic concept behind Botox is to use an extract of a toxic substance, derived from what causes botulism in people, in order to render specific muscles and tissues immobile. The toxic substance needs to be processed in order for the ideal substance to be extracted from it. Processing it the wrong way can cause damage to the person to whom it will be injected. It was initially used to treat conditions in the eyes, such as being wall eyed. When developers and researchers found that it could immobilize specific muscles and tissues, they applied it to the face in order to prevent muscle groups from forming wrinkles. When a person uses certain muscles in the face constantly, the frequent motion and usage creates the appearance of wrinkles and creases. The application of Botox causes the muscles to be rendered immobile. When these cannot move, they cannot create wrinkles due to being used. The immobilization can last for several months, maybe around three to six months at the most. Reapplication can be done as soon as the individual notices that the effect is waning. Many cosmetic surgeons do not put a limit to the amount of times that a person might receive the injections while some believe that it is healthy to give the muscles break once in awhile, in order for them not to atrophy due to being unused.

Side Effects

Because the results are not permanent, many believe that there are no lasting side effects of the use of Botox. In fact, serious side effects are incredibly rare. Cosmetic surgeons will warn patients that there could be some temporary side effects immediately after being injected with it. One of the more alarming but temporary ones is having a sagging or droopy part of the face. While doctors try their best to limit the area where the injection is inserted, there are instances when the substance might go somewhere else. The area that is touched by it will also be rendered immobile, which can cause panic for some patients. Parts of the face that may be affected this way are the eye and mouth areas. Many patients have crow's feet and wrinkles around the eyes, which is why most of them ask the cosmetic surgeon for prevention of wrinkles in these areas.

While Botox has not received any damaging press or feedback, many experts and doctors caution against using it for an extended period. It is prudent to actually listen to this advice and give the body and the face a break from one's beauty regimen every once in awhile.

Like in the rest of the country, in Folsom CA Botox is a popular minimally invasive alternative to more serious plastic surgery. Educate yourself before making a decision. The Need of Skin Care Products

The importance of excellent skin care is vital, as this is the first thing that everyone observes. If one has wrinkles or a big pimple on their faces, people notice and cannot help but stare. A regular exercise program along with great facials can be very beneficial, and if there is an issue that regular products or facials cannot take care of seeing, a dermatologist could not hurt either. In general, most folks can get away with just purchasing quality products. It is always a bad idea to be cost-effective when it comes to one's skin. Purchasing cheap skin care products can do permanent damage to one's cells.

Everyone has a skin type and purchasing products that cater to one's specific type is a good start. What works for some will not work for others but it is important to try new products as needs most people will need different types of products during each season. During the winter, most will need a moisturizer that works during these months, as for summer months all one needs will be a lighter moisturizer.

The body reacts to larger amounts of water one consumes. If one ever noticed that the more water one drinks, the softer one's skin will be. A great cleanser works well with a toner combined with an excellent moisturizer. These simple items can make such a difference when it comes to looking vibrant and healthy.

"You are what you eat" has never been truer when it comes to one's skin. A diet that consists of vegetables and fruits several times a day only aids in one's normal skin production. Consuming more vegetables and fruits are not only good for one's outwardly appearance but keeps one's internal body in a perfectly balance momentum. Along with all these necessary nutrients comes sleep. Most individuals are lacking proper hours of sleep without realizing that sleeping allows your body to heal. Without the proper amounts of sleep, the bags under the eyes will appear as well as that tired drawn out look. Feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep is not only good for the healing time but also for the mind, body and soul.

Today, one can reap benefits of a multitude of products out there in the market. Skin care today can be complex or as simple as one's desires. Some like to take an entire day to indulge in a Spa Package. This form of treatment can be so enriching as the need to pamper oneself from time to time is a good way to relax and unwind especially after a demanding workweek or a stressful event.

High end skin care is good for both men and women, young or old and the more one takes care of their outward appearance the easier it will be to maintain as one matures into old age. Providing useful skin care products reviews and skincare treatment articles, writings and reviews online.

Important Information Regarding Stretch Marks And Why We Get Them

Having beautiful, flawless skin is indeed a huge advantage, especially to a woman. Even if your facial features are not perfectly proportioned, everything can still be offset by flawless skin. Moreover, it makes you look younger than your years. That's why most women really desire to maintain a glowing, healthy-looking skin. Unfortunately, not everyone is born with such a blessing. More than just a few women out there suffer from skin problems which can either be inborn or caused by other factors. Take the case of stretch marks which seem to an issue with a lot of women these days.

Why do these ugly scars invade our skin, anyway? Basically, striae happen when the skin is excessively stretched, causing the fibers to break. These lead to tissue scars that come out like wavy lines in specific parts in the body. They usually appear in areas in the body where sudden changes occur. Examples are the thigh areas, breasts, buttocks, and stomach. There are a number of reasons why these scars occur. But perhaps the most common cause is when the person goes through a sudden increase in weight. A very common example here is when a woman gets pregnant.

Genes is also another reason why a person can have striae. If a lot of your family members have a stretch mark problem, most likely you will also end up with it. Hormones are also another cause. This happens when the body produces an excessive amount of glucocorticoid. This hormone prevents our body from producing proteins like collagen which are responsible for making our skin elastic. Increase in such hormones usually occurs during pregnancy, puberty, and obesity. That's why pregnant women are usually advised to follow a strict diet. This will help them provide the right nutrients for the baby without, however, letting them put on so much weight.

These days, there are several ways to get rid of these skin problems. Perhaps the most practical way to do it is investing in a good cream. However, this also requires some serious thought. There are so many products out there that claim they are the most effective. But what you should do is look into the ingredients being used. Squalene oil, vitamin E, and aloe vera extract are considered to be the most essential ingredients in an effective stretch mark cream. So before you purchase, it's best to check out the product thoroughly or seek the advice of a skin care specialist.

Sunless Tanning At Home: 7-Steps To A Sun-Kissed Look This Summer!

You want to look good in a bathing suit this summer, but you don't want to get too much sun because you care about the long-term health of your skin. Those are both good goals to have, but it does put you in a bit of a dilemma, doesn't it?

There are two common choices for women in this predicament: spend a lot of money on a professionally-applied spray-on tan in a day spa or tanning salon, or use a sunless tanning product at home, and use the money you saved to buy a new bathing suit.

Applying at-home sunless tanning products is a skill that requires patience and practice to master, but the beautiful, healthy glow of your skin is worth it. To make sure your at-home sunless tan comes out natural-looking and streak-free, follow these seven tips.

1. Moisturize

Starting 3 to 7 days before you apply a self-tanning product, apply moisturizer generously to your skin every day. The reason for this is because, these sunless-tanning products don't work well on skin that doesn't have enough moisture.

Be sure to moisturize on the morning of the day you intend to self-tan, too.

2. Exfoliate

Either a day before you apply the sunless tanning product, or the morning of the day you apply it, exfoliate your whole body thoroughly. Make a special effort to exfoliate bony joint areas such as ankles, knees, and elbows - these are the areas where self-applied tans most often come out uneven.

This is so that when you apply the self-tan product, it will be able to go on more smoothly, and your skin will be able to absorb it better, if you've gotten all the dead, dry skin cells out of the way first.

3. Keep It Cool

In order to achieve the best, most natural-looking results, your skin should be both dry and cool when you apply the sunless tanning product.

If you took a bath or shower before you got started, make sure you've dried off completely before applying the product, and don't apply it in your hot, steamy bathroom. Move to a room with cool, dry air.

4. Get A Friend Or Relative To Help

You can apply a sunless tanning product all by yourself, but if you don't have anyone to help you, you may miss the spots you can't reach.

5. Patience Is The Key

Rushing through this process is the surest way to end up with unevenness and missed spots. Go slowly and apply your sunless tanning product in an orderly way. Begin with your feet and gradually move all the way up your body, finishing with your arms, and making sure to rub the product into your skin well every step of the way.

Important note: When applying the product to your knees, elbows, and ankles, either use a moisturizing lotion to dilute the sunless tanning product, or use half as much of the product. Those parts of the body often soak up more of the product than most other areas. If you don't dilute the product (or use less of it) when working on those areas, they'll probably come out a bit darker than the skin on other parts of your body does.

6. Let The Self-Tanning Product Dry

Wait at least 30 to 60 minutes after applying a self-tanning product before you get dressed. If you wish, you can help it dry faster by using a blow dryer on your skin.

Also, when self-tanning products aren't completely dry, they can sometimes rub off onto clothes. Therefore, it might be a good idea to choose a dark-colored outfit right after you've just applied a self-ta.

7. Continue To Moisturize

A daily moisturizing regimen will extend the life of your sunless tan. However, exfoliation can remove the tanned skin and/or create a patchy appearance, shortening its life, so skip the exfoliation step for now.

Vegan Skin Care Products, Better Than People Think

The vegan skin care products market has been gaining in popularity recently, yet still has remained more like a mysterious alternative to a significant part of consumers. To some, it may seem just an alternative and nothing more. There are, however, easy ways to prove that these formulas are often better not only for ethical reasons or for the environment, but also for people's health.

The Vegan Concept

Veganism is a way of life that puts an emphasis on consciousness and ethics. Veganism is about excluding from one's life all the animal-derived products or ingredients, not just meat. It goes beyond the diet and strives to avoid harming the environment and the creatures inhabiting it. Vegans also avoid clothing items or cosmetics that use animal coloring like carmine, or animal fat, like soaps and lipstick. Some people, even without being vegan, find these ingredients quite disturbing. Therefore, it is great to know the alternatives. By purchasing vegan items not only that you adhere to conscious living, but also you get harmless substances into your system, thanks to the ingredients and procedures used.

Better, Natural Ingredients

Most cosmetics on the market are produced behind closed doors, in laboratories. People can read their ingredients on the label, but how many of them can actually explain what those are? That list of hard-to-pronounce chemicals can't be too kind to your skin on the long-term. Moreover, these substances accumulate under your skin and in your blood, causing disease sooner or later in life. Vegan skin care products are mostly based on plants, which have few or no side effects and don't accumulate in your body. The nature is wise, and when skin care is centered on its benefits, there is only to gain. To know which brands produce this kind of merchandise, one can proceed to make an online search including the term "vegan" and find the listings of such brands.

Animal Testing - Why It Isn't Necessary

Vegan products are directly related to animal rights activism. The implications go far beyond these sensible ethical aspects, though. Corporations and governments claim that ingredients are not safe for human use until they have been tested on animals. In reality, animals react much more differently to substances than humans, which render these tests irrelevant. Therefore, no one can be sure that all thoroughly tested products out there are actually harmless. Fortunately, the time has come for the world to discover a better and healthier way to achieve a beautiful complexion, through vegan skin care. Being close to nature is part of the basic credo for this area of the industry, and therefore you will get in you creams, lotions and tonics much more plant ingredients, natural oils and essences. For this reason, some of the products might be more expensive, but the effect (on the long term especially) is well worth the cost difference.

Customers have a lot of insecurities prior to switching from regular supermarket or pharmacy skin care, to vegan products. The Internet is there to help, especially through customer reviews on the needed items. Internet is an efficient guide for shopping and it helps you to make an informed choice. Natural Face Cream Can Be Your Skin's Best Friend

Face cream has been a staple of women's skin care routines for generations. Our mothers and grandmothers all swore by their favorite products and many of them passed on their secrets to us. But with advances in knowledge has come the realization that even the most expensive products may not be what's best for us. The true secret to skin care rests with the natural world and all its wonders.

The skin faces a number of challenges every day, from environmental irritants to the effects of aging, and the key to maintaining soft, supple, youthful skin is in repairing the damage they cause and replenishing lost nutrients. Natural face cream is the only way of doing this effectively because it contains a range of ingredients designed to target the areas that need it most and provide maximum healing.

How can you do all this with a simple facial cream? It's a good question and the answer lies in the list of ingredients. Things like shea butter, active manuka honey, babassu wax and grapeseed and olive oils all bring unique healing properties to the table and that can mean a real difference for dry, aging, and damaged skin.

Gentle emollients such as shea butter and babassu soothe and protect, restoring luster and softness to the skin. Plant based oils like grapeseed, olive and almond are sources of moisture that can help to replenish lost liquid content, combating the flaking and itching of dry skin. All of these make natural face cream the best choice for women of all ages and all skin types.

The addition of manuka honey and antioxidants like Vitamin E take face cream to another level, allowing it to provide healing from the inside out. The antibacterial properties of manuka honey soothe and restore damaged skin while antioxidants help to rid the body of built up toxins, which can consequently drain it of vital oxygen and leave skin looking limp and lifeless.

And it's not just women who can benefit from all these properties of natural face cream. Time and environment take a big toll on men's skin as well and with products especially targeted for men, they too can take advantage of the best nature has to offer. With men's skin exposed to even more irritants on a regular basis than women's, this kind of healing can be particularly important.

This is a new generation of skin care and that means we need more than our mothers' facial cream. Don't settle for products that contain nothing but synthetic ingredients. For healing that truly lasts, you need to choose 100% organic products, made from nothing but plant-based sources.

If you want to feel healthy and look your best, than you need to love the skin you're in. That means engaging in a regular skin care regimen that provides all the essential nutrients while it softens and moisturizes. The result is beauty that will last a lifetime!

Reasons to Use Tanning Beds

Tanning beds have turned into the latest trend for all those individuals who like bronzed skin tones. Everybody wants to get that sun-kissed appearance of their skin, but not all of us can get a chance to lazy around in the sun for some few hours just for a tan. Therefore, the idea of indoor tanning has significant benefits compared to the natural ways of getting a tan. Before opting for artificial tanning, it's essential to get all the relevant information concerning tanning beds along with its effects, features and safety.

Although tanning beds are a bit more common, it is essential to understand how they work. A tanning bed is a special device used to obtain a tan artificially through ultraviolet radiations generated from sun lamps. Home beds and commercial beds emit ultraviolet rays that render the same effects as the sun. Apart from the normal tanning beds that produce UVA rays, there are high pressure tanning beds that generate UVB rays. The UVB rays are typically less harmful than the UVA rays, since they can only go through the outer layer of your skin, unlike the UVA rays. The UVB rays are very costly and thus, not very common.

A German scientist, known as Friedrich Wolf, introduced tanning beds in North America in the year 1978. Since the 1980's, they have grown in popularity. Although in the past few years, some studies done by scientists have suggested that using these beds may be harmful. However, they have recognized that the ultraviolet rays produced are similar to the ones emitted by the sun and so; both have the same level of risk. Consequently, it is essential to get all the necessary information on the advantages and disadvantages, so that you learn how to avoid the potential harm associated with them. It is also necessary to consult a physician before getting a tan.

The advantages

Saves time and convenient: Tanning beds are convenient and quick. Just a brief visit to your local tanning parlor is all you need to get a beautiful tan. They work much faster than the sunlight to give you that unique tanned look. Therefore, you don't need to set a lot of time for it. Furthermore, tanning can be used at any time, whatever suits your schedule.

Melanin production: The exposure to UV rays stimulates the production of melanin, a pigment that renders the desired tan. Melanin protects your skin from getting burnt due to overexposure to UV rays.

Vitamin D: When you are exposed to either artificial or natural sunlight, your skin will produce vitamin D. Vitamin D plays a major role in keeping the bones, teeth and joints strong. It also prevents uncontrolled cell growth through a process known as apoptosis.

The low risk of skin burns: A tanning bed filters out UVB rays which are responsible for skin burns. Therefore, getting an artificial tan is less harmful to your skin, with regards to skin burns, than exposure to sun rays. Consequently, tanning beds are preferred as a safer alternative to sunlight.

The drawbacks

Harmful to the eyes: They can damage the cornea and retina. The high ultraviolet level is the major reason for their harmful effects on one's vision.

Skin cancer: Recent studies have established that there is a relationship between skin cancer and tanning beds. Although ultraviolet rays are known to minimize the risk of contracting carcinoma in the lymph nodes, they are also considered as one of the major causes of skin cancer.

Some precautions

Most tanning procedures involve 3-5 exposures to sun lamps placed inside the bed and later on after 3-4 weeks, 20 minute sessions, once every week. All places that offer indoor tanning services should give information on tanning beds as well as the necessary measures to be taken. It's also important to know more about the amount of tanning required and your skin type. One of the notable tanning tips is to apply tanning lotions before beginning the process. However, you need to select the right type of lotion according to your skin color and type.

Don't Pop Your Pimples

In order to avoid pimples many experts say that you should keep your face clean. This is true in many cases but as many people know this is not always the case. There are millions of people who suffer from acne who wash their faces religiously but see no improvement in their skin condition.

This is true for those poor souls who spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on creams, pills, or some type of special diet.

Why is it that some people just cant get rid of their acne, no matter how hard they try.

The answer is hormones. This is why teenagers typically have the biggest problem with acne. This is also why steroid abusers tend to get acne on their chest and shoulders. There hormones are raging.

Washing your face will leave you with a clean face but it won't fix your hormone balance. This is why teenagers tend to see the most problems with acne. As teenagers you are going through one of the biggest hormone changes of your life.

And we only antagonize the problem when we pop the pimples. popping pimples often times makes the bumps bigger and more pronounced and in turn spreads the bacteria which causes even more pimples.

The bottom line is that we should do all that we can do to prevent or minimize our acne. We should keep our faces clean, eat healthy foods, stop bursting our zits.

But we also just need to be patient. I started getting acne when I was 15 a lot of it was due to the fact that I was putting greasy chemicals into my hair. but some of it was just being a teenager.

I will share with you one tip that I have learned and still follow to this very day. You might think it is disgusting but I promise you I have clear skin and never get acne unless its from an ingrown hair from shaving.

I never wash my face with soap (well maybe once every 3 months) I don't use face soap, special soap, nothing. Just water.

I got this tip simply by overhearing a woman giving advice to a friend. She said that she never washes her face with any soap and just uses cold water. I have been following that principle ever since and have seen amazing results and much clearer skin.

Give it a try. You should check out some videos of pimple extraction at pop-pimple.com. Providing useful skin care products reviews and skincare treatment articles, writings and reviews online.

The Hidden Cause Of Dry Skin Revealed, The PH Factor!

First what is "PH"? It means the "Power" or "Potential" of Hydrogen. The PH scale ranges from 0-14. A PH of 7 is considered neutral (water is neutral), anything over 7 is alkaline. The human body, in its most optimal state, would be alkaline insidebut acid outside.

Now let's talk about this thing called skin PH. What does this mean really?

The human skin, when in great condition, is between 4.5-6.0 on the PH scale. This means that healthy skin is slightly acidic. That is the acid mantel (skin covering). The acid mantel is a film that spreads over the surface of the skin which is sebum (oil), sweat (water), and amino acids, mainly, with other fatty acids. This acid mantel serves a vital purpose; a slightly acidic environment can fight off bacteria, fungus, and pollutants. The acid mantel can also be affected by hormonal changes, and stress causing a breakdown in the PH, but most breakdowns are caused by external factors. When a breakdown occurs in the PH the skin becomes alkaline.

When the skin becomes too alkaline, it can get very dry and irritated. It can no longer properly fight off bacteria which can lead to breakouts. (PH imbalance may be the chief factor in acne). Most cleansers, especially foaming types, are at least 8.0, and most soaps are from 9.0-11 PH. This is shocking!! These cleansers act as assaults on the skin and take 14 hours to normalize, and by that time, you have washed, bathed or showered again! What chance does your skin have to keep itself in good shape and recover with this daily assault? The answer is to keep your skin's PH at the right levels, so that it can stay healthy, beautiful and soft.

There is nothing wrong with exfoliating your skin, but there is much wrong with harsh chemicals which disrupt your skins acid mantel.

Most people are under the mistaken impression that cleaning the skin with soap will help to alleviate their problem, and better the skin. This could not be further from the truth!

When a skin condition exists, such as eczema, psoriasis, or other breakout, the skin PH all over the body can be affected, and it may be found that the entire surface of the skin has become way too alkaline. It is very important to get this PH back into normal range (4.5-6.0) as quickly as possible.

It is shocking as well, to know that the UShas far less PH balanced products on the shelves than other parts of the world, yet our education and technology is far superior. Even though the information on PH is fully known by all major USbeauty companies and skincare professionals, the data is not broadly published. This is because most Skincare Products have a High PH, well above 7.0.

The reason for high PH Soaps, Detergents, and Skincare Products in general, is their low costs and ease of manufacture.

You need to always make sure you use skincare products that have effective ingredients and the proper PH level.

Look for products with lanolin that will act as an emollient moisturizer, filling-in the minute crevices of the skin to prevent cracking and shedding. With daily use wrinkles and lines can be diminished, creating a smooth and silky surface to the skin.

You want a product that will be anocclusive moisturizer, slowing down the evaporation of water from the surface of the skin by creating an invisible protective film. This allows the normal barrier function of the skin to be restored, making skin less sensitive and better able to hydrate properly. While this protective layer impedes the invasion of allergens and toxins, a deep penetrating protection keeps water sealed-in the deeper layers of skin and will stimulate the ability of the skin to retain moisture and to slow down the effects of aging.

It is important that your skin care cream have antioxidants like vitamins A, D and E, to repair and stabilize the skin cells for optimum vitality. These vitamins seek out and repair damaged skin cells and restore health to cells that have been damaged by the sun, pollutants in the environment and the body's own aging process. Vitamin A Improves skin tone, elasticity and texture by smoothing the surface of the skin. Vitamin E heals damage to the skin from exposure to the sun and protects against roughness, loss of elasticity, brown spots and has an anti-inflammatory effect.

Another key ingredient is aloe. Aloe has been known since ancient times for its healing properties, moisturizing and anti-aging results. Aloe is a deeply soothing and penetrating skin cream ingredient. Aloe carries its soothing and healing power into the deepest layers of the skin. The name of the game is moisturizing, and aloe helps to do that while also bringing an ancient healing touch.

There are so many skin care products on the market it can be costly and time consuming to go through trying to find the one that is best for a particular condition. But it's worth it to find one with a balance of ingredients that will sooth a wide range of dry skin conditions.

Electrolysis, Eliminate Unwanted Hair Forever

There are times when your stubborn and unwanted hair needs to be removed permanently. Depending on your gender, beards, facial hair, hair on hands and limbs are not necessary. Furthermore, using depilatories such as shaving machines and shaving creams may serve to embolden such unwanted hair. Nonetheless, depilatories are temporary measures and the stubborn hair will keep on recurring in a bolder and more destructive form. You wouldn't wish to have huge pimple-like formations dotting your skin as a result of ingrown hair due to shaving.

There has to be a permanent way of completely wrestling down unwanted stubborn hair. Some of these permanent ways include electrolysis, laser and IPL (Intense Pulsated Light) hair removal. Of these permanent hair removal methods, electrolysis is the most common form of hair removal.

The following factors make electrolysis to be the most widely applied permanent hair removal method;

• It is more natural than any other permanent method of hair removal as it takes advantage of the chemical composition of the hair follicle cells
• it is less complicated and therefore does not require highly specialized skills
• It is less repetitive as compared to use of depilatories.
• It is cheap compared to many other permanent hair removal techniques.

There are three different types of electrolysis;
• Galvanic Electrolysis - this type takes advantage of the chemical composition in the follicles to destroy the hair roots.
• Shortwave Diathermy - this type destroys hair follicles through the effect of heat.
• Combi or Blend - This type uses a combination of galvanic electrolysis and shortwave electrolysis either in phases or alternately.

Out of the three types of electrolysis, galvanic is the fastest kind of electrolysis hair removal. However, shortwave diathermy is slower but more effective than galvanic. Blend is in-between the two in terms of speed and effectiveness.

Some of the common benefits of electrolysis include;

• You can do away with unwanted hair forever
• Your skin is safe from the harsh effects of depilatories such as shaving machines
• Your skin retains its natural beauty and form
• Your self-esteem is boosted once the stubborn hair is gone forever.
• You save thousands of dollars in the long-run
• Your time is saved from repetitive time-wasting activities such as shaving and waxing.

To ensure that you are permanently free from stubborn and unwanted hair using electrolysis method, you need to ensure that the following precautionary conditions are adhered to;
• You must consult your doctor before undertaking electrolysis to ascertain that you do not have health complications that may be aggravated by use of electrolysis
• You must ascertain that the establishment and technicians carrying out electrolysis are certified, licensed and experienced.
• You must ensure that hair removal is carried out on you in a hygienically conducive environment
• You must ascertain that you are adequately insured against risks that may occur out of the electrolysis process.

Going Natural: Organic Skincare

I have recently been rethinking my back to nature stance. This is a good thing, even with a name like "green". I have been a nature girl since I was a little girl. I could live outdoors; easily, just give me a tarp and a warm beach! So what does all this have to do with organic skin care? I am sharing my conclusion after looking at all my green commitments, including organic products for skin care. Research lags behind marketing. That does not mean that organic skincare claims are phony. You do have to do your homework, though, on organic products for skincare. Just like we are finding out that some of our "green" solutions are not so environmentally friendly and we have to stop and make some adjustments, organic skincare is still evolving. Keep in mind that there is no legal definition for organic as it relates to organic skincare, and there is no oversight on how much of the natural ingredient is in each product. The good news is we have a lot to look forward to in organic skincare - if we don't kill all the rainforests first.

Here are my seven suggestions to keep that natural beauty going with organic skincare:

1. We are so lucky to have the internet, so use it. Search out companies that sell organic products for skincare products. Is the website professional? Does the company have a mission statement? Are the products cruelty free? If there is a "contact us" email, send them an email asking detailed questions? Only you know what you want and expect from organic skincare.

2. Research your current skincare products. Some skincare lines that are known for traditional chemical products now offer organic products for skincare. If you like a particular retailer, you may want to start here in purchasing organic products.

3. Decide what things are most important to you. I want organic skincare that has eliminated animal testing, will ease the look of my lines and wrinkles, fade my brown spots and protect my face from ultraviolet rays. Everyone has their own priorities. Just remember, organic skincare cannot deliver everything, not yet anyway.

4. Green tea and white tea have some research behind them showing protection against UV rays and they are rich in antioxidants.

5. Some research supports the claim for organic skincare with coffee berry and soy; that it removes unwanted brown spots, or reduces the color.

6. I remember having severe eczema as a child and the soothing effect of oatmeal baths. Both oatmeal and chamomile in organic. natural skincare will calm irritated skin.

7. Argan oil is rich in vitamin E. It may help skin sensitivities and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

As always, have fun. A wise old frog once said, "It's not easy being green."

Making Natural Body Scrub to Relieve Dry Skin, A Spa Treatment at Home

A relaxing and natural way to get rid of rough, flaky skin is to treat yourself to a salt scrub. Naturally occurring salts such as Sea Salt, Dead Sea Salt or Epsom Salts are beneficial to your skin by exfoliating dead skin cells. It also have positive effect on your body due to its detoxifying and purifying properties. Epsom Salt, in particular, can also have an added benefit to sore muscles by drawing out acidic wastes from muscles and joints through the pores of the skin. Body Scrub treatment is usually offered in spas; however, few people can afford or let alone have the time to go to Spas. By making your own natural scrub, you can easily customize the ingredients, knowing for sure what goes into your skin. It is relatively easy and economical to make Natural Body Scrub using natural ingredients that you are familiar with. This recipe that I am sharing with you will make one application, but if you'd like to save time and make several application in one batch, simply double up or increase the quantity proportionally, and store in a tightly covered jar.

To make this Salt Scrub, you will need:

1/2 cup Fine Sea Salt, Dead Sea Salt or Epsom Salt

4 Tbsp Grapeseed Oil or Sunflower Oil

You can also substitute this with Vegetable Glycerin for longer shelf life

1/4 cup Baking Soda

5-6 Drops of your favorite essential oils

Some good essential oils to try are Lavender, Orange, Vetivert and Eucalyptus. These essential oils have detoxifying properties when combined together.

The next step is to mix all the ingredients in a glass or stainless steel bowl, making sure all salts are soaked in the oil or glycerin. Optionally, you can can add 20 ml of Green Tea Extract or. It has excellent antioxidant properties that will benefit your skin as well.

Standing in bath tub, wet hands and apply mixture using small circular motion, starting with feet and work upwards towards the neck. Then fill bath tub with warm water. It is a good idea to also add a few more drops of essential oils to the bath water. Relax for at least 15 minutes allowing the skin to absorb ingredients. By doing this treatment weekly, you are on your way to glowing skin!

Wart Remover: The Mechanism of Action

There are minor and serious skin disorders that may alter our physical health and social life. Warts are one of the common skin disorders that occur due to the infestation of certain strains of human papillomavirus. Warts may affect people with low immunity level and they normally heal after a certain period. However, the normal curative process may take several months to years. There are many efficient wart removers available in modern medical science that effectively cures this skin disorder. Interestingly there are a number of wart remover medications that works on a person may not deliver any positive result for you. There are many reasons for this phenomenon. This article highlights about different warts removers and its mechanism of action. Most of the wart removers contain at least one of the following medications

· Salicylic acid

· Liquid nitrogen

· Imiquimod

· Dichloro-acetic acid

Salicylic acid

Salicylic acid preparations are available in liquid form and are effective for warts that form in the areas of skin, which does not have dense sweat glands. (Salicylic acid binds with sweat salts and readily spreads to the nearby skin tissues and damages them)

Salicylic acid breaks the intercellular bond and reduces the cellular perfusion. This chemical may not act properly in warts that thick and darker than usual. Sponging the warts with salt water improve the absorption of salicylic acid. Always take care to wipe of the water in the warts to prevent the acid spread.

Liquid nitrogen

Liquid nitrogen (LN) is widely used in cryotherapy. LN is one of the effective remedies that destruct the wart cells. However, liquid nitrogen can deliver only a temporary relief as in most of the cases wart may reappear in the same spot after several months. Recent studies states that certain strains of virus can resist extreme cold and heat as they survive to form new warts after an interval. The regular application of ice after cryotherapy has shown positive results.

Imiquimod

Imiquimod is an effective wart remover wart remover that stimulates our own immune system to destruct the invaders. Human papilloma virus uses our DNA for its growth and multiplication. They effectively deceive our immune system by replicating the structure of our DNA. Our defense system identifies these viruses our body parts. On application, imiquimod stimulates our defense system and help them to identity the virus. Application of imiquimod twice a day has proved to deliver 100% cure and the recurrence of warts are negligibly law.

Dichloroacetic acid

Dichloroacetic acid interferes with the normal breathing pattern of warts by suppressing the lactic acid fermentation, which is vital for anaerobic respiration of the cells. When cellular breathing impairs, the wart cells undergo a process called apoptosis (self-initiated suicidal death) and the energy resources of virus deplete. Virus cannot sustain in a dead cell and frequent use of dichloroacetic acid clears out the virus effectively from our skin tissues. In rare cases, the warts may reappear if treatment procedure fails to destruct all the viruses.
