Using Your Mixer Showers To Treat Your Skin

You may not want to believe it; but research reveals that hot showers cause dry flaky skin. You may have gone to the skin specialist several times only for them to tell you that they do not see anything wrong. If you have wondered why, now you know the answer.

May be you may not have noticed it, but your mixer showers may be faulty letting the water get hotter than usual hence causing the damage in your skin. This article will bring to light some things you can do to reverse the dryness and flakiness hot showers may have caused.

If you must have a hot shower, make it short

We cannot assume that everyone will walk away from hot showers and if you the kind that must have one, then cut the time spent under the shower. The skin damage is even more severe when you use pumps to boost the pressure. You may enjoy the feeling of water hitting you skin with force, but the effects are not so good. You can as well consider reducing the pressure levels, as this will lessen the impact of too much heat on your skin.

Use soap selectively

Everything may be going herbal now but that does not mean that your soap has no chemicals at all. Do not be scared, no one is advising you against using soap. What this article advises is for the selective use of soap. Some areas in the body never sweat and there is no reason to soap them. Only areas like the armpits, groin, neck and feet should be soaped on a daily basis. Doing this will make your skin healthier especially if the soap is contributing to the dryness.

Again, select soap that has natural oils to make sure that your skin remains moist even after the shower. Some soap gets rid of all moisture on your skin and if you do not apply any oil, your skin dries and you suddenly get itchy. If none is available, then consider using shower gels.

Let the water pressure be enough

If you use pumps, let the pressure they add to the water be enough. Do not spend five minutes after the shower vigorously rubbing your skin with the towel to dry yourself. Instead of rubbing the towel, pat your skin gently and slowly, and the towel is absorbent enough to dry you in this way. If not, then consider investing in a good and heavy towel for use after the shower. Rubbing takes away the moisture on your skin and after a few hours, you feel the need to scratch.
