Psychological Damage Of Acne Scars

Acne scars are one of the worst things that can happen to a person that had acne. Think about it for a second, there are people who have clear and beautiful skin and all of a sudden their skin started having acne. It is like a person that has beautiful skin like a fairy tale princess, all of a sudden has a facial skin like a wicked witch. Imagine the horrible social implications that happened. This person suddenly feels ugly, doesn't want to go out, and doesn't want the world to see the ugly diseased like facial skin he or she currently has. After fighting acne for months, this person will then have to deal with acne scars which can be uglier and a lot harder to get rid of.

People suffering from acne scars tend to isolate themselves. It is because they feel ugly and they don't want others to think the same thing. These people constantly look at their face in the mirror and constantly look at the facial imperfections that they have. I can't blame them. A girl suffering from these imperfections may meet their prince charming but if the prince charming doesn't find them attractive, these girls automatically think that their face is the problem which unfortunately can be the truth.

Our society loves beautiful people and beautiful things. We value beauty a lot. It can be seen in how we find women attractive, the upward profit trend that the cosmetic industry is having, models in magazines and forms of entertainment that we see on T.V. It is in our instinct. We view people with beautiful skin to be fit and healthy. We see them as perfect for procreation or a perfect lover.

People with acne scars also tend to suffer from depression and anxiety. They look at themselves in the mirror and can only see the ugly imperfections that they have. This causes depression. They feel hideous with very low self worth. They find going out to be troublesome. Every person they meet, they automatically think that the person is only looking at the acne scars on their face. They become depress because they feel ugly all the time. The fear is also physically justified. We are not talking about inner beauty or overall beauty of a person. We are talking about purely physical beauty. Let's face the facts; most guys get attracted physically before anything else. A lot of women get attracted physically too.

There are many ways to treat these facial imperfections. We can visibly reduce the appearance of acne scars to the point that they are no longer visible. People who are suffering from anxiety, depression, and lots of insecurities should very much consider using such treatments.
